Scout House came about after a long career designing and sourcing home textile and home wares products and ranges for many of Australia's largest retaillers. On buying trips overseas seeing many stores like Scout in Europe, UK and US. Those stores curated by their owners have a great sense of style, authenticity and individuality, lost in this world of poor quality, generic mass production. Past work has also given us great knowledge and links to the very best producers of textiles in the world, who send us beautiful soft goods. 

The idea for Scout, like the name was about bringing together pieces that can be treasured, are intrinsic, or are made by the original manufacturer. Like everyone, vintage goods are ever important reminders of the past. Given new life. 

Our journey since we opened has taken us from international trade fairs to European flea markets to salvage yards... Scout House looks  completely different to when we opened and we love change. New things are always around the corner!
